Chinatown Night Market $$Address:Corner of Jalan Sultan and Jalan Hang Lekir - Various MarketsDescription: The best Hokkien noodles (black soya sauce noodles) and Bah Kut Teh are commonly sold in many stalls for only a few Ringgit especially along Jalan Raja Laut. Another interesting thing to try is the skewers steamboat, where food is on skewers and you just pay what you use or cook, according to the empty skewers on your table.
Chow Kit Market $ Address: Jalan TAR - Little India - various restaurantsDescription: This is the place you go especially after a night long of partying for all night nasi lemak. Saturday nights are packed with many stalls selling good Indian food along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR).
Bangsar $$$+Address: Bangsar area - various restaurantsDescription: Similar to Boat Quay in Singapore, Bangsar is a favourite hangout place for expats and wealthy locals for good international cuisine, chic looking restaurants and pubs. Frangipani mentioned above is but one of the many great eateries along this street.
Sri Hatamas $$Address: Sri Hatamas area - various restaurantsDescription: On the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, this is an upcoming area to hangout with rows and rows of trendy international restaurants from which to choose. Entertainment
Kuala Lumpur (KL) today is a bustling commercial centre by day, and an exciting place for entertainment by night. It could be named Asias next big entertainment and party capital as discerning clubbers from around the region and the world over are hotfooting to KL as their rest and relax location of choice these days.
You would be spoilt for choice as every junction you turn, a clutch of nightspots, each so different from one another, attracts the fickle loyalties of party-goers. No doubt, there is never a dull moment in KL. Whats more, the various races and cultures offer a great base for many festivals and cultural shows.
Dance Clubs
One of the latest additions to the dance club scene is The Backroom KL, which is the home of KLs most outstanding and popular dance scene. Electrifying atmosphere at most times, this place is creeping with life till the wee hours of the morning. Equally famous, Vivid Dance Club is slowly gaining momentum and is also a favourite place to be seen. Beach Club Café on the other hand would be less conspicuous in an idyllic resort setting drawing an already ecstatic crowd with perennially pop tunes. By night, the Hard Rock Café, a usual favourite, is the haunt of an eclectic crowd who are all ready to groove it down to the varied sounds of rock, soul, R&B, funk and blasts from the past.
Bars and Pubs
Some of the best bars and pubs can be found at the newly yuppie suburb of Bangsar Baru, a serious partying ground in bustling KL. Featuring nearly close to 50 entertainment outlets, this is where you would find The Roof, a fancy New Orleans inspired décor, in its three-storey façade with wrought-iron balconies overlooking the busy streets of this famous entertainment haunt. A few steps ahead is the Echo Jazz Bar, easily the hippest bar in Bangsar and is famous for hosting all pre-party events.
Near the Golden Triangle over at Jalan Conlay is the Conlay Club, an exclusive club with KTV rooms, pool tables and a café as well. Other watering holes around the area include The Pub with its local band, Power Play, playing its set of popular hits, while the famous Benson & Hedges Bistro is ever drawing its loyal customers with its great coffee and snacks. For something really funky, try The Monkey Bar where everything is themed around monkeys.
